The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a premier youth organization that aims to develop character, leadership, discipline, a spirit of adventure, and a sense of service among students. It provides an organized, trained, and motivated youth force, always ready to serve the nation. NCC also creates a platform for cadets to pursue careers in the armed forces.

At our institution, NCC plays a pivotal role in nurturing students into responsible and capable citizens. The training is conducted according to a well-defined syllabus and includes a variety of physical, intellectual, and leadership-building activities.

Activities and Training

  • Annual Training Camps (ATC): Organized at least once a year in various parts of the state, these 10-day camps are designed to instill leadership qualities, improve time management, and provide practical exposure to weapon training, map reading, shooting, and teamwork. These camps give cadets the opportunity to innovate and apply their skills in real-life scenarios.
  • Army Attachment Camps: Every year, 10 cadets from our institution participate in Army Attachment Camps where they are exposed to the day-to-day training of combat forces. This offers them insight into military routines and access to sophisticated equipment used in the armed forces.
  • Centrally Organized Camps (COC): These special camps are conducted to further enhance leadership qualities. One or two cadets from our college are selected annually to attend these prestigious camps.
  • National Integration Camps (NIC): NICs aim to promote cultural harmony and unity in diversity. Each year, four cadets from our institution represent the college at these camps, fostering national unity.
  • Trekking Camps: Selected cadets get the chance to attend national-level trekking camps outside the state in regions like the Nilgiris, Assam, and Kashmir, covering up to 100 km. These camps enhance physical fitness and adventurous spirit. Additionally, our college organizes one-day trekking events in local hill areas such as Wayanad, Palakkad, and Munnar.
  • Social Service Activities: NCC cadets are at the forefront of social service. Major activities include blood donation, tree plantation, AIDS awareness, road safety campaigns, and more — building social responsibility among youth.

Examinations

Our cadets actively participate in B and C Certificate Examinations conducted by the NCC Directorate every year. These certifications are valuable for higher education and employment opportunities, especially in defense and civil services.

Enrolment and Selection

New cadets are enrolled every year based on physical fitness and general ability. Participation in NCC not only prepares students for defence careers but also grooms them into disciplined and patriotic individuals ready to contribute to society.
